When chatting with LMSA, you can attach files to share content with the AI. The app accepts a wide variety of file types for analysis and discussion.

What your model supports

The types of files your AI model can process depend on the model you’re using. Different models have different capabilities:
  • Text-based models can handle text files, code, data files, and documents.
  • Vision models can additionally process images (JPG, PNG, WebP).
Some specialized models may have additional restrictions or capabilities. If a file type isn’t supported by your current model, the app will show an error message explaining which file types are available.

Image files

Image attachments are supported only when using a vision language model (a model capable of analyzing images): If your model doesn’t support images, images will be visible in the file list but cannot be analyzed.

Tips for file attachments

  • Click the paperclip icon in the chat to attach files.
  • You can attach multiple files at once to a single message.
  • Files are included in the context sent to the AI for analysis.
  • Larger files may be truncated if they exceed content limits.
  • The AI will acknowledge attached files and integrate them into its response.
